Ok ya’ll…. September is actually here. I’m not exactly sure where the summer went, but I AM sure of one thing- the sweltering heat has vacated northern VA. With the relief of the summer skies comes the crisp morning air, football weekends, and a slightly earlier sunset each evening as we approach winter and the holiday season.
Honestly, for me, the change in season causes me anxiety, and in a time that is meant for me to move freely and enjoy my hoodie and closed-toe Birkenstocks, I often find myself stuck. Out of nowhere all of my to-do’s that “I will get to tomorrow” suddenly catch up with me, leaving my head spinning, wondering where to begin first. I decided this Fall, as opposed to trying to tackle EVERYTHING on my plate, to instead stick to 3 goals, to get REALLY clear to make this Fall another kick-a** season and feel at ease.
Here are my three goals:
1) Begin every day with a 5-minute meditation to cultivate what I want and need for the day.
2) Eat with the season! Ever tried it? While I love my COLD morning smoothie, this Fall I am excited to experiment with what is in season in my area. Click here for more information and stay tuned for Fall recipes.
3) Be mindful and open to upcoming changes with this season, as opposed to obstinate and stuck.
